Her long time affiliation with franchise organization Decorating Den Interiors has allowed Barbara’s interior design firm access to a large range of luxury American manufacturers, and specialized imports for a variety of better priced options.

Barbara comes to you

Barbara Hayman bring years of experience right to your home or office. Barbara will be asking lots of questions because she wants your space to represent your style and needs whether for your home or business!

The initial appointment typically lasts about an hour. Larger projects may require more than one appointment. If you decide to work together Barbara will take photos and measure your space during the design appointment. If there are multiple areas to be measured she may return another day.

Barbara will request a full house or office tour, and you should mention all problem areas, not just the space you called her about. She may ask to see personal items to get an idea of the colors and patterns you prefer. This is a time to get to know each other and decide how to move forward.


People are often shy to discuss how much they want to spend, but for both parties it is by far one of the most important aspects of your initial consultation. You may not know how much things cost so Barbara will work with you to determine a budget that accomplishes your overall project goals.

You may choose to work on one space at a time or an entire home or business. The investment will determine the furnishings Barbara can include in the project. Fortunately, as interior designers we have access to a vast array of products including  to the trade only furniture pieces,  custom upholstery and custom drapery.

We also have imported furniture at different price points to help fit in anyone’s budget. Barbara also offers a full range of commercial furnishings.

Discussing specifics

Every project presents its own unique set of circumstances. Barbara prides herself on working side by side with you to accomplish your design vision. She’ll discuss the specifics of your project which will help determine the budget and make some preliminary design suggestions.

No project is too big or too small. Depending on the size of the project, she may be able to get started with just one meeting. Back at her studio, interior designer Barbara Hayman will begin to plan out the space she is decorating and start to make the selections that will suit your project goals.

Design plan

Barbara will return to your home or office once the design plan is complete. She will bring a floorplan, drawings and fabric samples representing the furnishings she has chosen for your design.

Barbara Hayman Designs feature a very wide selection of furniture and furnishings including rugs, lighting, custom drapery, wallpaper and so much more.

As your furnishings are ordered from a wide range of suppliers, items arrive separately and are stored safely until everything arrives. Some things may arrive within weeks, some may take several months.

The final reveal

You’ve waited a long time for installation day, surely the most exciting day for both you and Barbara! It is advisable for Barbara and her team to be left alone in your home to supervise the sub-contractors who will install window treatments and hang light fixtures.

If you were having paint and wallpaper installed, that may happen earlier to avoid paint spills on your new furniture. Barbara will call you to return home when everything is perfect.

There is nothing nicer than having left your home in the morning then returning later to see the final reveal. Enjoy your new space — hiring an interior decorator is worth every cent!
